The Chad Basin National Park in northeastern Nigeria, Chad Basin is with a total area of about 2,258 km². The park is fragmented, with three sectors. The Chingurmi-Duguma sector is in Borno State, in a Sudanian Savanna ecological zone.

Rabeh’s Fort
In 1893, a Sudanese warlord Rabih az-Zubayr ibn Fadllla, also called Rabeh Ibn Fade-Allah, invaded the Lake Chad Basin, conquering the Borno Empire. so he built a fort in the town of Dikwa, where he made home.
